Happy Belated Birthday to my new nephew-in-law DJ

Ok, so I was late on DJ's first birthday as part of the Siefers' clan. Sorry DJ, actually it will probably happen again. My memory just isn't what it used to be. My body and my mind aren't what they used to be, too. DJ and Alicia were married last month in Las Vegas.

Barbara's daughter and grandson

Kristy and her son Jacob share a special moment together shortly after he was born.
Kristy is the daughter of Nancy's sister Barbara.

Precious, precious, precious!

Barbara will be visiting her new grandson next week in the Detroit area. Of course, she will also visit with Jacob's parents Kristy and Scott, but I think Jacob will be the focus of her time there.

Monday Update

1. Nancy's sister Barbara became a grandmother last week when her daughter Kristy gave birth to Jacob Robert Myers on April 15, 2009 at 11:45 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds 3 oz. and measured 20". Mom and baby are doing well and Grandma Barbara is planning a visit to Michigan next week to see little Jacob.

2. Bill is home in Plainvile after his back surgery last week. He says he is fine, but this is the same man whose doctor said Bill's back was the one of the worst cases he had seen. Bill, I have one word for you - REST.

3. Pearl is much, much better. The vet thinks she was bitten by a spider or snake. She has been on antibiotics and pain medicine for a week and she is acting almost normal.

That's all for now.

Visit to Brother Bill in the Hospital

Bill had back surgery on Wednesday, April 15, in Wichita at Wesley Hospital. We visited him on Friday and he was still in a lot of pain. Hopefully his pain will disappear very soon. Bill has had the support of his wife Julie and daughters Alicia and Rebecca. They all work in the health care profession so Bill has had terrific care from his personal assistants.

Well, I am not sure about Rebecca's nursing assistance for her dad Bill. She seems to be holding the urinal above his head. Bill, what did you do to deserve this?

Alicia, you know any silly look will end up on the blog for all to see.

After lunch several of us visited the horses and baby calves. Left to right: John and Sam, Debbie and Natalie, Jody and Anna, Garrett, and dogs Daisy and Molly

Debbie mixed the milk replacer for the calf

Natalie, Debbie, and Anna fed Annie the calf

Annie the calf sucked every bit of milk from the bottle.

Natalie and her grandpa Greg stood on the west side of the barn to get out of the wind.

I took this photo after Easter services at the catholic church in Dorrance. I just love this photo. Sam, Anna, and Garrett sat in front of the altar.

An Easter Egg Hunt in the morning and another one in the afternoon

Garrett's first move at the Easter Egg hunt in Bunker Hill was to perform some acrobatics on the hanging bar. After he completed his flip, he hunted eggs.

Finally, Garrett ran for eggs. Needless to say, he wasn't in to getting the most eggs - he was in to getting the most of the experience.

Anna didn't count her eggs, but she did open each one to get the candy out.

After the Easter egg hunt, the kids played at the park. Hallie went down the slide several times.

In between Easter egg hunts in Bunker Hill and Dorrance, the kids found time to color eggs at Grandma's house.

Even Sam got in the action of coloring eggs
