Retro photo of Mom, Rebecca, Debbie and Jody

Just having a little fun today with old photos. Anybody have a guess as to when and where it was taken? I think this photo was taken at Matt's MBA graduation from K-State in ????  If that is right, it might have been taken in front of the duplex Matt and I shared for a semester in Manhattan.  I certainly would like to hear your guesses.

Harvest Field Video

I know this is a month late, but better late than never. I took this video late in the day as we finished cutting Dauber's and were preparing to move to 'the lake' to cut.  As you can see, we were taking a few minutes to eat dinner after we prepared the machines for the move to another field. This is fairly typical of a harvest field meal - good food, several conversations of great importance, and kids playing.  It doesn't get any better than that.

The many faces of Leah

You can never have enough photos of a grandmother kissing her grand child.

Leah wore her pink sneakers. I am working on getting a few more pairs of pink shoes for the new school year. Remember - I decided to wear pink shoes to bring awareness of supporting cancer patients and getting your regularly scheduled tests.

Avery visited us for a few hours on Monday afternoon while Leah was still there. Leah followed Avery and seemed to be in awe of her.  Avery just went right on with her play.

Our last weekend on the farm = seafood fest and water play

Greg and Hallie

Of course a baseball game broke out during seafood fest. John and his family came from Salina for the party.  He was soon recruited by Sam to play baseball.

Garrett was the pitcher and Natalie and Hallie played the outfield.  The outfielders seemed to be talking rather than watching the game.

As the game progressed, the outfielders got more and more distracted.

Even Debbie made a pinch hit appearance.

Greg knocked the dirt off his spikes/boots.

Sam is the number one baseball player at the farm, he loves it and recruits everyone to play.

Debbie made it to second base.

John

Sweet, sweet Emily stopped to smell the flowers.

Cute, cute, cute Emily

John - I think he was checking the runner on second base prior to pitching the ball.

Mom and sweet Emily

I could not resist including this picture of Emily and Brooklyn. They tried to get on the chair at the same time.

Natalie, Anna, Hallie and Sam worked to build a pond on the sand pile.

The best mom in the world!

Garrett had a game on Sunday at 12:30 - it was hot, hot, hot.

Garrett making a catch at first base.

Garrett just missed a line drive.

After the baseball game at Natoma, we returned to the farm for water play.

Brooklyn being Brooklyn

Why is Matt carrying an insect net? Well, Garrett is enrolled in entomology as his 4H project and he has all of us thinking about catching bugs.

Kelly has found much joy in Garrett's 4H project.

I like this photo of Brooklyn

Anna used dishwashing soap to increase the slide factor on the slip and slide.

Garrett

Only Anna would think about throwing the beach ball in the air and then doing an acrobat move before it hits the ground.

Transferring bugs from the net to the container.

Kelly, what is so funny?

Kelly, what did you do?

Well, you can't tell it by this photo, but Joey got stung by a wasp as Kelly was transferring it to the container that Joey was holding.

I think Joey was going after Kelly.

This looks suspicious, what are Nancy and Susan doing in the kids pool?  Looks like they are having a water fight with someone.

Matt, that is cheating by hiding behind the screen door.

Looks like Nancy is losing this water fight.

I have no caption for this photo, but to say that it looks like life is good for Sam and Anna.

This is how we should all end our day.
