Brooklyn and her mom Lori - Brooklyn wore the same baptism outfit that Anna wore for her baptism. Brooklyn's big event was held at St Joseph's Church in Dorrance.
It was an eventful weekend for Nancy and me as we celebrated Debbie and Hallie's birthdays as well as Brooklyn's baptism. I posted the photos from Debbie's birthday in the previous post, so this post is a double whammy - Brooklyn's baptism and Hallie's birthday party.
Proud parents Lori and Matt with daughter Brooklyn Mae
The 'godfather' Kevin made the sign of the cross on Brooklyn's forehead.
Father Hoover included Brooklyn's sister Hallie and her cousins in the baptism celebration. He had the children hold a bowl of holy water.
The children answered a few questions from Father Hoover about how they would help Brooklyn and serve as role models for her.
Brooklyn wasn't too pleased with the water on her forehead. The grandmothers assisted in this part of the baptism. Brooklyn's great grandma and her middle namesake (Mae) Grandma Siefers helped with the run off while Brooklyn's Grandma Thielen helped with the towel. All of us who were in attendance participated in the baptism. We were the only ones there because it was not during a mass.
Father Hoover focused on three guidelines for Brooklyn's baptism and life: prayer, telling the truth, and helping others. He asked all of us in attendance to model that for her and to help her with those in her life.
Left to right: Sister Marilyn (she did a great deal of the baptism), Lori, Matt, Brooklyn, Sharon (the godmother) and Father Hoover.
Brooklyn finally gave up and decided to take a nap during the last part of her baptism.

After the baptism we celebrated Hallie's 3rd birthday at Matt and Lori's house in Dorrance. Hallie and cousin Anna spend lots of time together.
The moment of truth - blowing out the three candles on her lady-bug cake.

I told you they spend lots of time together, even their actions are similar.

Sweet Brooklyn in her comfortable clothes after the baptism.
What do you do at the end of a busy birthday day? You try on your new gifts. Nancy gave Hallie and Anna pink hats and Hallie received the purple rain boots from her cousins.
