Memorial Day in Dorrance is a BIG deal. We gather on main street and then 'parade' to the cemetery for a short service. Garrett wore his special hat and rode his decorated bike in the parade.
Members of the Dorrance American Legion and Auxiliary lead the parade. John Reilly and Joey are in the back row on the left.
Matt served as one of the protectors of the American and Kansas flags.
He is in the front row on the far right.
Colleen drove her 1969 convertible in the parade to escort the featured speaker of the day, who just so happened to be her son Major Russ Allen.

Joey is third from right and John is on the far right.
The moment of the volley, you can see a shell casing in the air.
More of Garrett
You can tell just how windy it was this day by Hallie's hair.
The next few photos are from last week when Garrett went to golf camp.
With all of the wind we have had lately, it is no wonder Anna broke out the kite.
You can be pretty sure a baseball game will break out in Susan's front yard.
Mom and Nancy happened to be 'in the stands' on this particular day. Susan's porch serves many purposes, but one of the most important is as a bleacher for the baseball games.
When there was a lull in the baseball game, Anna decided to climb a tree.
Joey helped Sam put on his new tool belt.
Even though it is hard to tell by this photo, there were two games going on at one time. Kelly was playing catch with Garrett while Anna and Susan played their own game of catch.

Debbie even got into the action with Anna.
Notice the 'grazer' in the background; I got it stuck a couple of times.

This is Shelby, Matt's dog and she loves to dig holes. Enough said.
Susan said goodbye to her granddaughter Avery.
