Backyard Shenanigans - It was a good day at Nancy and Mary Kay's house

Birthday boy Garrett doubled as the backyard sherriff

Sam decided to give up his Happy New Year hat for the start of the baseball game - and other shenanigans

There is no smiling in baseball

Avery isn't quite ready to join the fracas on the top level, so she stayed on the lower level for a while.

Avery and her daddy Kevin

Lovebirds Joey and Kelly. Kelly's bday was February 24 and Joey's is March 4.

Anna has no fear, she just jumped right off the rock wall.

I am not sure if Anna is such a good role model for Avery right now. Does it look like she might be contemplating a jump off the ledge just like her cousin Anna?

This captures the fracas in the backyard. The baseball bat looks suspended in mid air.

The dads - Joey and Kevin - were in charge of the backyard shenanigans.

Birthdays and Fun in Manhappiness

It that time of year again - lots and lots of birthdays. Hallie celebrated on February 17 with a K-State themed party. We teach them young in my family.

Garrett - his birthday is February 28

The next few photos were taken the day after Hallie's party.  Some say the young one's brains are wired differently - they embrace technology.

While Joey and Kelly attended the men's basketball game, their kids stayed with Nancy and me for a day of unlimited boundaries and anything goes. Kevin, Sharon and Avery joined us later in the day for more fun.  We gathered for a group sing-a-long (with instruments) and sang three songs, Row, row, row your boat, You are my sunshine, and the ABC song.

We took Garrett to Varney's so he could pick out a birthday present - he chose two: a K-State football jersey and a K-State necklace.  Anything goes at our house.

I love this photo of Avery because you can see her reflection in the table.

Garrett had a birthday breadstick instead of a cake.

Kelly says Sam only wears two shirts - both of them are St Louis Cardinal t-shirts.  I blame Jody and Tim for that.

You knew Sam would find a way to start a baseball game.
