An Absolutely Fabulous Weekend!

What made the weekend so good? Well, let me count the ways: 1. had overnight guests of Susan, Joey, Kelly, Garrett, Anna and Sam; 2. got to see Avery and her parents Kevin and Sharon; 3. watched Nancy play with Garrett, Anna and Sam in the hot tub; 4. teased Susan about her upcoming birthday and the big blowout we are going to have for her next weekend (rumor has it that Susan is getting a keg of beer and will be at the dock - all are welcome); 5. watched K-State win the football game; 6. watched the fireworks show after the game; 7. trimmed trees and hauled the limbs to the dump (thanks for the help Kevin); 8. ate at Cox BBQ; and 9. spent lots and lots of time talking and teasing and talking and teasing each other.

Anna and Garrett made our bedroom into a theater. They turned the lights down, put in a video of old Popeye movies, ate whatever they wanted (in this case - popsicles), and enjoyed the evening.

On Sunday morning, the kids and Nancy splished splashed in the hot tub.

Someone drew a caricature of Kelly - don't you think it looks like her? Nancy added her own touch to the photo. I told you we spent lots of time teasing each other.

More foolery!

Anna and Garrett tried a different seating arrangement for the late morning movie. Notice the two new chairs in our bedroom. Can you guess which one is Nancy's and which one is mine?

Nancy and I took the kids to the city park (or as Anna calls it the City Hall Park). Anna is quite athletic. She headed right for the monkey bars and amazed everyone by her ability.

Not a problem for Anna to hang by one arm.

Ahh, how sweet.

More sweetness

We ended the afternoon on Cox BBQ where Kevin, Sharon and Avery joined us. Sharon and Avery had been visiting Sharon's sister in southeast Kansas. But, they returned to Manhappiness just in time to eat with us. Anna and Avery had a great time together. I couldn't decide which photo to post, so as usual, I just posted several versions of the same pose.

Avery is 5 1/2 months old and Anna is 4 1/2 years old.

Does Avery look like Sharon or Kevin?

Another post today - mostly kids

Kelly and son Sam

Notice the Jeff Gordon cap Garrett is wearing - I wonder who gave that to him?

Sam is so very cute!

The look of love - Aunt Joan and Fred

Does anyone else think Garrett is growing up way too fast?

Garrett enjoyed fun in the sun.

Cousins Anna and Hallie - what one does, the other one does.

No reason for the black and white photo - I just decided to try something different

This is my favorite photo of the day. It just speaks to me. I was trying to take a photo of Brooklyn, but this is what I got instead. I love it.

Anna went down the slide backwards. I think the hard landing surprised her.

Anna is tough - a bump on the back of her head is not going to stop her.

Sweet Brooklyn

Because it was hot and very windy, Garrett decided to farm in the dirt of the shed. When he came in the house, I just couldn't resist taking these photos.

Mini Siefers Family Reunion

The three Siefers brothers and in-laws: Aunt Ferrol, Aunt Barbara, Uncle Abe, La Vern, Uncle Ken, Aunt Jeannine, Uncle Merrill, and my Mom. Abe (also known as William, Bill, Marland, and Abraham), Ken and Merrill are my Dad's brothers.

Some members of the Siefers family gathered in Wilson on Sunday to visit with Uncle Ken and LaVern as they traveled from Florida to California. They stopped for a few days in Dorrance/Wilson so we had a party!

Greg and Deb - they were on their way to another party that day, but they first stopped in Wilson for our party.

Are You Ready For Some Football?

Is anyone else looking forward to the start of K-State football?
