Christmas party for Nancy's second Mom, Frances

We had a busy Saturday - two K-State basketball games and a Christmas party with Frances at her care facility. Frances is 93 years old and doing well.

They make quite the pair. Frances and Nancy have been mother/daughter type friends since 1972. They met at Big Lakes Developmental Center where they were both teachers for disabled children.

The manager of Frances' unit at Meadowlark took her shopping at the Salvation Army to buy a special gown for the Christmas party and ball that followed the party. Frances was too tired to attend the ball because she just had surgery on Thursday to replace the battery in her pacemaker.

I took a few photos of photos in Frances' apartment. This is her husband Fred, he died in 1996.

MK, This is the first time I've seen photos of young Frances and Fred. Quite the dapper couple. It is sad that Frances can't read/see this tribute to her. Her gown looks lovely! Barbara

We can all only hope we look half as good as Frances does when we are 93 years old!!! Of course it would help if we looked like they did in those early pictures!! Nancy, please tell Frances how awesome she looks!!! Debbie

I love these photos of everyone. The ones of Frances and her Fred are just lovely and so touching. What a gift this relationship continues to be for both Nancy and Frances and all of us who love them as well.
Cheers,
